The Build: Simplicity at Its Best

We don’t make cables to win beauty contests. They’re here for the music, not to strut around in a costume under the spotlight. Simple. Clean. Unapologetically purposeful. The black wrap blends right into the cable jacket itself — low-key, durable, easy to wipe down, and meant to stay out of your way so your head stays in the song.

Back when we were building at HeadRoom, before the sleeving craze and neon colors took over, this was just how we made them. Cardas Audio, a longtime partner of our parent company, still uses the same old-school method on one of their lines — simple, proven, and current. It works, and it’s worked for nearly a quarter century. Some chase flash and color — we stick to what lasts, because music speaks for itself.

Every part has a reason for being there. The plugs, splits, and connectors are backed by veteran soldering and stout strain relief. Full shielding keeps the noise out. The cable bends where it should — flexible at the desk, resilient when life hits it.

Our cables don’t ask for attention. They just do their job. You’ll notice them when you need to, and the rest of the time, they’ll stay quietly in the background where they belong — like a good bass player.

This is the mindset we work from: proven materials, purposeful design, and the kind of quiet confidence that comes from decades of listening and building. Gear that holds its ground, night after night, rooted in the inspiration of HeadRoom and Cardas: experience you can feel, not just see.

The company name is simple too — Custom Headphone Cables. No fancy modifiers, no horse shit. Just like our builds, it’s straightforward and purposeful. We stuck with what’s been hanging right next to Corpse Cable since the beginning. Corpse Cable — rock ’n’ roll through and through — and the tagline? Custom Headphone Cables. The name? Just what it says on the tin.

Just like the name, our packing is simple — don’t expect flashy, costly materials. No gold-foil boxes or tinsel-stuffed tissue paper you’ll toss in a day. It’s just there to get the cable to you intact and ready to play, the way we’ve been shipping for over a decade.
